Palliative and Hospice Care

Palliative Care is a philosophy of care. It focuses on relieving symptoms and providing comfort care. We provide Palliative Care in combination with curative treatments at any stage of an illness. This is a beneficial approach for chronic illnesses such as cardiac, respiratory or neurological diseases, cancer, Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Hospice Care is a form of Palliative care and becomes an option when the illness has progressed and curative treatment is no longer desired or considered beneficial. Hospice Care is more inclusive, bringing together a range of services and disciplines to ensure physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the individual and the family.

We partner with several local Hospice Care professionals that provide care at Columbia. We are committed to helping you decide what is right for you and your loved one. Please contact us if you have questions or if we can assist you.
